United Health Awareness Foundation (UHAF)

• Founded in 2007
• Founders include Nephrologists, Register Nurses and Bankers

The foundation was founded to provide health related services to the underserved communities.  These services include but not limited to free health fair, screening for common diseases, health education, Medicare/Medi-Cal application process, vaccination, dietary education/advice, food bank, counseling, and career guidance in health related fields. We also provide CPR classes, infectious control training, and continued education for health professionals.

  Programs 

Health Fair: screening for hypercholesterolemia, anemia, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease and electrolytes abnormality. The fair also provides free physical examinations, health advices, and physician referrals.

Vaccination: free influenza vaccination provided annually.

Health Education: up-to-date information about recognition and management of diabetes provided to general public and healthcare practitioners.

Referral: patients referral to appropriate specialist.

Career Guidance: for physician assistance students to expose to the world of dialysis. Assistance to newly trained dialysis technician at job placement.

Also, we have assisted under privileged patients to obtain free medications through collaboration with pharmaceutical companies.
